HORT exhaust hanger insulators are designed to elastically mount exhaust system components and reduce the transfer of vibrations from the engine and road to the vehicle body. The insulator keeps the muffler and pipes in the correct position, compensates for exhaust system movement during engine operation and vehicle motion, and helps prevent excessive noise, rattling, and impacts of the exhaust against the body or suspension components. A worn or damaged insulator may cause knocking and vibration, metallic rattling, exhaust misalignment, and accelerated wear of the mounts. Therefore, if abnormal noises appear and during exhaust system service, it is recommended to check the condition of the hangers and replace them if cracking, tearing, or loss of elasticity is found.
