TM HORT steering tip is a steering element in a car that provides mobility and turns the wheels to the desired angle. Its principle is based on a spherical connection. On one side, the tip is attached to the steering rod, and on the other side it is connected to the steering knuckle.
All parts of TM “HORT” steering tips are made directly at the factory and undergo 100% ultrasonic quality control.
Main characteristics of TM “HORT” steering tips:
• The design feature of the steering tips is the absence of a spring, which has a positive effect on the handling of the car, especially when driving on rough roads.
• the body of the tip is made by hot die forging, which ensures the necessary strength of the product; The forged body allows you to resist pull-out and extrusion forces that exceed the standard by several times.
• The ball pin is made using cold heading technology under the pressure of a hydraulic press of 500 tons, which allows to increase the specific strength of the parts. To increase durability, all fingers are heat treated with high frequency currents.
• The thread on the fingers is made by the method of surface plastic deformation, CNC machines of the American company HAAS, which preserves the internal structure of the metal, and improves the strength characteristics of the thread by up to 15% compared to the cut one.
• The sphere and fillet of the finger are additionally hardened by rolling with rollers, while the roughness of the sphere is Ra<0.2 µm.
• The pull-out force is more than 5150 kgf, the extrusion force is more than 10500, which exceeds the requirements by more than 2 times.
• For the manufacture of covers (anthers) TPU high-temperature thermoplastic polyurethane is used, in terms of strength and elongation it is (3-4) times higher than rubber compounds.
